Governorate:             Duhok and Ninawa (Dohuk with frequent travelling to Sinjar
and other areas in the Ninewa Governorate;
and frequent overnight stays in the Sinjar field office.

Dorcas is looking for a Project manager.The Project Manager is responsible for the execution of one or more Protection projects.The Project Manager is part of the Country Office team and is accountable to the Program Manager.


Main Tasks

  • Implement, oversee and report on projects as directed by Programme Manager and in line with the project proposal and concept note.
  • Design budgets and monitor expenses based on the project budget
  • Manage team members to carry out their tasks and duties and provide overall advice, welfare and support.
  • Coordinate the work of team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and within set deadlines.
  • Supervise data collection process, compiling weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Coordinate closely with local authorities, formal and informal, as well as refugee/IDP community focal points in each area, establishing and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Ensure post-project impact assessments and evaluations are conducted
  • Coordinate with logistics and finance teams to ensure timely provision of equipment and/or identified needs, as per the project.
  • Identify training gaps and needs of team members and provide ongoing capacity building
  • Support programme manager in development and writing of project proposal;
  • Represents Dorcas with local authorities, local partners and other humanitarian actors in and outside the intervention areas when necessary.


Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years project management experience in a NGO including managing budgets;
  • Fluency, both verbal and written, in English, Kurdish and Arabic;
  • Experience in project development, implementation and evaluation
  • Extensive experience in data collection
  • Proficient of Microsoft office package including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Proven team management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of protection, GBV/SGBV and psycho-social principles, especially in the KRI setting
  • Knowledge of Iraq and Kurdish legal procedures
  • Hands on experience of working with affected communities
  • Implementation of community mobilization activities
  • Ability to conduct and write up clear assessments and reports in English
  • Previous experience of liaising with local authorities, Mouktars and community leaders
  • Knowledge and attendance of UN Cluster system
